The WNC Jewish Federation launched our Women's Division, the Women's Philanthropic Leadership Initiative, in 2009. The women of the Leadership Initiative make additional gifts to the annual campaign and support local and overseas projects.

Lion of Judah
There has been an extraordinary movement in women's giving called the Lion of Judah. Introduced in 1972 for the Miami Women's Division campaign, the Lion of Judah pin has firmly established itself as a symbol of commitment to the worldwide Jewish community at a $5,000 giving level.
Women's Campaigns have assumed an increasingly significant role in raising funds for Jewish Federation campaigns. Today, there are nearly 12,000 Lions of Judah in the U.S.; 900 in Canada; and more than 13,000 worldwide. We are happy to say that the Lion of Judah is roaring into Western North Carolina!
